$0 Filing Fees for Chapter 7
Bankruptcy Court filing fees for Chapter 7 are $338.00. However, depending upon your income and liquid assets, you might qualify for a filing fee waiver. Generally, you must meet the following 4 requirements to qualify for a filing fee waiver:
- You are an individual (businesses filings do not apply);
- You are filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy;
- You cannot pay the fee in installments over 120 days; and
- Your combined family income is less than 150% of the official poverty line.
Doan Law will determine whether you might qualify for a filing fee waiver. In the event that you might, your case will be filed with a filing fee application for the Bankruptcy Judge to rule on. The Judge will then either grant the fee waiver or deny the fee waiver and order a payment schedule for the fee. In our experience, the Bankruptcy Judges grant filing fee waivers in 90% of our waiver requests.
